Award-winning alto saxophonist Nikola Bankov, described as “Bright young cat with fresh grooves“ – (ALL ABOUT JAZZ) is only 23 years old and he‘s truly pushing the boundaries of his instrument. Nikola is winner of prestigious Danish Music Awards and is listed in magazine Forbes' 30 under 30 as one of the 30 most successful people under the age of 30 in Slovakia. He originates from Slovakia and is currently based in Zürich, Switzerland.

His second album “Dream Chaser” features very special guest - legendary, Grammy-winning trumpet player Randy Brecker (USA). The music is adventurous, exuberant and powerful: music for a new generation, music that will inspire and excite. It combines catchy melodies with deep grooves. It’s a fusion of jazz, punk-rock and electronic elements.

His critically acclaimed debut album ‘Bright Future’ emerges as Nikola’s definitive statement, merging inspiring and catchy melodies with a refreshingly original sound. The album features world-renowned tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake (USA) and received one of the prizes at Esprit Jazz Awards for The Best Jazz Album Of The Year in Slovakia. Bankov experiments with a range of FX effects applied to the sound of the saxophone, adding a new set of colors to the musical palate.

Nikola Bankov Band (SK,DK) is an international modern jazz group of 5 musicians, based in Aarhus, Denmark, lead by young saxophonist Nikola Bankov. The rest of the band is made up of some of the best young and high-in-demand musicians in Denmark.
